An interesting experience at Melbourne City Suites
Pluses: good sized rooms, washing machine, location, bath in bathroom, large fridge, keyless entry, close to trams and restaurants
Minuses Room very dark,, no hot water by 930pm one night, no dining table, desk chair wobbly, one bed felt like it was going to collapse, checkin process by reception a bit odd. Reception in a room on 8th floor. City Suites inside Mantra on Little Bourke...had trouble finding the hotel itself. Cleaning and servicing hard to understand...had to go to reception during office hours to get toilet paper. Needed to book a service 2 days out.

All that delay to get into the room could have been avoided. But the staff were nice to offer me a an hour later checkou
The check in process after office times made it very tiresome. They have a check in formality which didn’t work with regards to deposit payment. I spent 43 min on an international call and my payment via credit card didn’t go through. This process could have been done long before my check in. Yet they never told me to do it before. The reception closed at 6pm and I arrived at 6:15 pm. Why not send us a msg to complete this process before check in so it is seamless. It took me over 50min before I could get into the room.
