    A recommended vacation location

We liked the location: really close to the Grand Plage, a lot of pattiseries and places to eat nearby — the restaurant across the street works the entire day, which saved us when confronting the reality of most places closing at 14:00. The hotel provides beach chairs and umbrellas, as well as towels, which was nice. We planned the trip so it would coincide with my partner's birthday. This was my first time co-ordinating a surprise with the hotel staff, but the Mercure team made it a breeze (and they spoke so many languages!). Turns out, all you need to do is to write an email to the hotel's address. The cake, the breakfast, the card — my partner felt amazing. I specifically want to thank Lisa. She guided me through the setting up the birthday surprise before our stay. And during the stay, she helped us with the late checkout, and fixing the door handle in our room. Right, the room — it was clean, with a nice furniture placement, the WC and the shower were separate (a convenient thing that is rare in hotels), albeit with a transparent window into the shower (so you could see the lighthouse and the ocean I guess?). We got an upgrade, so the stay felt especially relaxing and like something that could happen only in Biarritz. We fell in love with the town, the culture and the food. And will definitely come back in the future!

The WC door location was a bit awkward and led to us bumping the handle a couple of times — but the staff was really understanding about it. Drying the bathsuites was a bit awkward — there was no drying rack, air circulation was limited, and even after 24h in the bathroom they stayed a bit damp.
