    Beautiful, spotless apartment with a wonderful host; just plan ahead accordingly!

    This was a beautiful, extremely clean apartment and we had a very comfortable stay. The host was absolutely wonderful; she patiently waited for us to arrive and pick up the keys while we were navigating Sarajevo for the first time. Driving in the city can be hectic, especially if you’re unfamiliar with the smaller streets and signage, so I really appreciated her patience and kindness! A few things future guests should know: the apartment is centrally located, but it’s about a 30–40 minute walk to Baščaršija and many of the main sights. We stayed during the summer, and with the heat, that walk was definitely not something we wanted to do often. The good news is that taxis are very affordable and easy to find, so getting around was simple. There are food options nearby, but most are more casual/fast food. If you’re looking for great traditional Bosnian sit-down restaurants, you’ll probably want to venture into another part of the city. The apartment itself is gorgeous, spotless, and comfortably slept four people. One thing to keep in mind if you’re coming from the U.S. and are used to Airbnb properties being stocked with lots of extras: this is a more basic setup. We had a few rolls of toilet paper, salt and pepper, and some basic kitchen spices, but things like a wine opener weren’t provided. From what I’ve experienced, that seems pretty typical for Airbnb stays in the Balkans, so it’s worth knowing ahead of time and bringing or buying a few basics if needed. Overall, we really enjoyed the apartment and especially appreciated how kind and accommodating the host was. Just plan for the location, summer heat, transportation, and the more basic amenities, and you’ll have a great stay!
