    Beware

Worst accommodation ever. This was without question the worst accommodation we experienced during our trip to Italy. The problems started before we even entered the apartment. The building felt dilapidated and poorly maintained, and as we approached the elevator in the main common area, the smell of garbage was inescapable. Inside the apartment, things only got worse. We found hair on the bedding, signs of mold, and a sofa bed that wasn't properly prepared with sheets. The sofa itself had visible dirt on it, and underneath the sofa bed it looked like the area hadn't been properly cleaned in a long time. We immediately contacted the host about the condition of the apartment and asked him to come see it. He refused to come because he said it was too late and expected us to stay there until the following morning. We were traveling with our family and absolutely refused to spend the night in those conditions. We documented everything with photos and videos, left the apartment, and paid for a hotel instead. What was particularly frustrating was that the next day, after we were no longer there, the host denied the condition of the apartment—the very condition we had asked him to come and see the night before. We found the way the situation was handled dismissive and extremely unprofessional. Despite the fact that we did not stay at the property and had photographic and video evidence of what we encountered, the property refused to refund our money. A clean and sanitary place to sleep is the absolute minimum anyone should expect when paying for accommodation. When a guest reports serious cleanliness concerns, refusing to come see them and then disputing those concerns the following day only made an already terrible experience worse. We ended up paying for a hotel on top of what we had already paid for this apartment. I would never stay here again and strongly recommend looking elsewhere.
