    Great Ryokan but could do with some dusting

    Beautiful ryokan in a stunning location. The service from the staff was impeccable. The shuttle bus from the station was very handy. The evening meal was many courses and provided a insight into Japanese traditional food. There were maikos during the meal for entertainment. The breakfast in the morning was my wife's favourite meal. As stated by others, the accommodation is slightly aged, which we didn't mind. However, unfortunately under the table and on the skirting boards there was a large build-up of dust, which was very noticeable when sleeping on the floor. That was our only criticism of our otherwise amazing stay.

    Very charming Ryokan, and a fantastic experience from a cultural point of view. The meals are served in very specific times, and there's a lot of food being served, so you need to be prepared to eat a quantity of food. Everything is very well prepared, and the staff is very friendly and respectful!

    Great location. Female staff wonderful but male staff could use remedial training in attentiveness. Dinner setting fabulous and made perfect by arrival of fireflies on cue.
