    Lovely Cottage and loathesome Booking.com

The location was perfect and a very short walk to the town centre. The property was immaculate and well equipped. The sofa and bed were both VERY comfortable.

The stairs were very awkward and the outside space was nothing like the photos - a small table in a small courtyard accompanied by at least 8 rubbish/recycling bins - hardly "the most romantic cottage in Suffolk" style. The worst thing though was dealing with Booking.com. We responded to the price quoted on Booking.com website and gave our credit card details. No refunds were available - but then the owner told us the price on Booking.com was wrong (I had no problem with that tbh) and he couldnt honour the deal. He was unable to cancel the booking and I was told to cancel the payment - but couldnt see a way of doing this. So rather than risk losing about £350 I actually negotiated with the owner and paid the difference - What really irks me is that if I hadnt chosen/been able to do this the contract would have been frustrated and I guess Booking.com would have refused a refund and I would have had to use section 25 on my credit card. That is shocking! Equally shocking is comparing the price of booking this property on Booking.com and another agency - approximately 75% more expensive!

    Just what I needed.

Location and the house was very nice. Super clean.

    Outlook over so many bins.

Property compact and bijou but stairs are more suited to a young couple.

    Log fire

Stairs were too challenging for an older couple.

    Weekend away

Very close to high street & bars

I have been to quite a few now & a loaf of bread with 2 small pots of jam were basic. It was quite expensive for 2 nights

Lovely cottage in a great location.

Beautiful little cottage within a few minutes walk to the centre. The space has been cleverly utilised and everything we needed for our stay was easily located. The interior is calm, cosy and filled with features which give it character. Framlingham is everything a town should be - everyone we met was so friendly, lots of lovely shops and great pubs - the food at the Station Hotel was exceptional - plus the added attractions of the castle, and proximity to stunning coast and countryside. The hosts could not have been more helpful - thanks for a great stay.
