Location, atmosphere, facilities (pool, gym)
Weird switch for bedside lamps that wasn't explained at check-in (or understood by the receptionist when asked!). However, the colleague who came to the room resolved the issue immediately.

Had to move rooms 3 times
The area the hotel was located was lovely.
Unfortunatley came across many problems during our stay. Checked in at 3pm and the room that we had been checked into hadn't been cleaned properly - moved rooms and the 2nd room we got moved into had an awful smell, almost like urine. Rang the reception team from the room on '0' and their manager Liam came to our room and when he walked through the door he went 'what is that smell?' even he couldn't believe how bad it was....he then told us he had been to our first room and apologised and said that it hadnt been cleaned properly. Anyway due to the hotel being fully booked he said he had one last room he could move us to (3rd move at this point) however half the lights in the room didnt work but he said it was the only other option...so it was this or nothing basically and we had travelled 6 hours to get here!! Liam told us we could have complimentary food due to the hassle so we ordered soup and he then told us to contact booking.com for a refund as we had booked through them. Contacted booking.com who then called the hotel on our behalf and the hotel have said we are not entitled to any refund because we were given complimentary soup. I have called the hotel and they said Liam is only the duty manager and not the reservations manager and that the reservations manager has said we are not allowed our money back. I am appalled and have now taken this further.
