    We really enjoyed our stay! The location is excellent — very close to the city center, with a beautiful park nearby where you can go for a run around the castle. There’s also a Lawson convenience store and School Bus Coffee just around the corner, which we visited every day for a great coffee. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We had a small issue during our stay, and they took care of it the same day, just about two hours after we reported it. We really appreciated how quickly and professionally they handled it. Overall, a great place to stay with a convenient location and excellent service.

    The house also had a distinctive smell that comes with an older property. We were aware that this might be the case and it was not unexpected, but it is still worth mentioning for future guests ( we are quite sensitive for and "old smell"). Unfortunately, there was quite a significant amount of mold around the doors leading to the washing machine area ( staff reacted very fast )

    Loved Kyoto and would stay at the property if we return

    We loved the Japanese style of accommodation and the fact it was located off the main roads.

    The internal stairs were quite steep

    So damn cool.

    It felt very historic and it looked awesome. The house was put together very well for lodging. It did not feel old at all. House was always heated and insulated. Heated floors were nice too

    A couch would be nice but it might ruin the aesthetic

    Very good

    The location was really convenient for walking to all sorts of sites; was close to the river which was lovely to walk along; close to several subway and bus stops so that getting around was easy and in a very quiet neighborhood. Plenty of room for our group of five.

    Some of the futons were on the thin side.
