  A cold and dismissive response to a compassionate refund request after our family lost everything in a house fire.

  I have nothing positive to say about the way my request for a compassionate refund was handled. My feedback concerns that experience and the host’s communication.

  After a devastating house fire in which my family, including my children, lost everything, I contacted the host to request a refund on compassionate grounds. I accept that the booking was non-refundable. However, I hoped the host would consider making an exception in these exceptional circumstances. Both my travel insurer and my home and contents insurer have told me they will not cover the lost booking cost in this situation, leaving us with this additional financial loss at an already devastating time. The host refused the refund and wrote: “I understand your personal situation but I am a private person and I can do nothing about that.” Although the message included an apology, I found that wording cold, dismissive and insensitive given what my family and children were going through. We were asking for understanding after losing everything in a house fire, and a compassionate refund would have made a real difference to us. I was deeply disappointed by the refusal, but the way the decision was communicated made the experience even more upsetting. Even when declining a request, I believe a host can respond with greater care and sensitivity to a family facing such a devastating loss. Based on how our request was handled, I would not book with this host again.

  Cięgle przekonywanie samego siebie, że nie jest aż tak źle. Nie polecam.

  Widok z tarasu.

  Ogromy problem z karaluchami wokół i w środku. Stare zdjęcia obiektu w ofercie. Ogólny brud. Zasikane materace. Brak podstawowych mebli. Prysznic zalewa łazienkę. Chemia basenowa barwi kostiumy.

  Not a good stay. The place is generally nice but needs much more maintenance and cleaning.

  The location is good, a quiet neighborhood, and you can see the sea from the terrace

  The property was not clean, the toilets were very dirty, and the bed sheets were stains. The pool liner had a yellow stain all around the top of the pool , which showed low maintenance. We also had a problem one day after lunchtime on our 2 day stay at the property. At about 15:00, we were sleeping inside, we heard a chainsaw for outside, and 2 maintenance guys came and started to cut the plants outside and wanted to clean the pool. Of course we sent away, they were insisting to do there job but they finally left. The wall inside the property has at a lot of places rising damp on the walls and paint job needs to be done.
