    Dissapointed.

    Unfortunately, this was by far the most disappointing accommodation of our trip to Crete. The room looked nothing like the one advertised online. The bathroom in particular seemed to belong to a completely different hotel — perhaps one we were supposed to be staying at. The room itself had a rather unusual atmosphere. While lying in bed, you were greeted by a light bulb hanging from a roughly one-metre-long rope directly above you. It honestly looked less like a hotel room and more like a scene from a horror movie. We asked the owner if we could change rooms because the room clearly didn't match what had been advertised. We were told that there were no other rooms available. When we said that, if the room couldn't be changed, we would simply like our money back, the owner suddenly became very concerned — not about the room, but about the 20% Booking.com commission. We were told that we should pay the commission ourselves because, apparently, he wouldn't be able to sell the room again. He then contacted Booking.com, and suddenly, almost miraculously, another room became available. And, even more miraculously, this new room looked exactly like the one advertised online. So apparently, the room we were looking for did exist after all. We eventually received our money back after couple of days, and interestingly enough, the owner's attitude became noticeably friendlier afterward his call with Booking.com. He even said he didn't have all of those pictures online. Unfortunately, by that point, we were already very happy to be leaving. The breakfast was disappointing as well, and we didn't particularly enjoy the town. The sea in the area also didn't seem nearly as clean as in many other parts of Crete. Overall, we were extremely disappointed with our stay and incredibly relieved once we left and continued travelling around Crete. There are so many beautiful places on the island — unfortunately, this wasn't one of them.

    Leuk, gezellig, fijn.

    Het ziet er super netjes uit. Op loopafstand naar het strand.
