  We left after 2 nights!! (out of 6 nights)

  Nothing - all just dissapointing

  1). One month before arrival, we messaged host if we can check in earlier because our flight lands in Faro at 11am. The host told us to message him again 2 days prior to check in date. One day before arrival, we messaged him asking the same question. The reply was "Bom dia. Não terá de ser ás 15h . Obrigado". We used translator function (inside Booking.com messaging platform), and it was automatically translated into: "Good morning. It doesn't have to be at 3 PM. Thank you." I cross-checked my understanding with my close friend from Portugal (she is native Portuguese), I was told that the sentence message from host might missed out the "," or "." symbol that totally gives different meaning; but if it is read that way (without the symbol), then my understanding is correct (same as Booking.com translator). With that understanding (i.e. it does NOT have to be 3pm), on the check-in date we flew from UK, arrived in location just before 12pm, and went to Reception. (Please note that we did not have internet on the day of flying & check in). Reception said they have nothing to do with the property as it is a private rental. Feeling shocked, I had to make a phone call to the host (at 11:57) from my UK number, while my taxi driver waited on the road with my luggage. Once connected, I was simply told "I already sent you message this morning" (i.e. the message was sent on the same day as check in date at 10:54). He then carried on saying: "You cannot check in before 3pm". I said "Your yesterday's message said differently" (as per Booking.com translator), but he still said "No you cannot get in. Just follow the instruction I sent you this morning in Booking.com". This way of pre-arrival communication from the host is extremelly not helpful, no emphaty, and it was really annoying. Pre arrival message should have been sent earlier e.g.

  todo, el apartamento muy bonito,la ubicación, facil aparcamiento, habia lo necesario de utillaje de cocina, que dispusiera de piscina, sin duda repetiremos

  Schönes Apartment. Toller Pool.

  Zufuss in die Stadt ist schwierig. Man muss an Hauptstraßen lang gehen wo es keinen Fussgängerweg gibt. Bin hauptsächlich mit Uber gefahren. Ist aber nur ein kurzer Weg!
