Very expensive stopover on HW path
It’s near the HW path and quiet for a good nights sleep.
Was very very expensive compared to other places I stayed on the path which were equally nice if not nicer. But no other choice in this town. Nowhere in town to have breakfast other than the community pub, if they accept you as a non-resident. Also no shops to make your own breakfast. A bit disappointed to see there were no biscuits / snacks provided nor guest-intended shower gel / shampoo in the bathroom. Am not sure about the cleanliness of the living room floor having wiped up some water with a kitchen towel or the sofa which I think needs a wash or replacing.

Nice cottage In a lovely village. Well equipped. Comfy bed. Good shower. Fridge/freezer, oven, microwave etc. in an excellent area with lots of Hadrians Wall & Roman history sightseeing. The Visitors Guide book is very detailed.
The TV is a nitemare - despite the Fire Stik it had a continuous very poor signal & constant loss of programmes. As the only form of evening entertainment it was really annoying. The sofa is small & not very comfortable

Beautiful place close to Hadrian’s Wall
It had everything we needed for a couple of weeks whilst digging at the Roman Army Museum. The kitchen was well equipped, and the place felt loved and cosy.
It was slightly damp, so the clothes that we could not tumble dry (e.g some delicates or synthetics) took a while to dry. Suggestions for improvement: a larger (and more stable) clothes rack would be helpful. A new broom would make sweeping easier too.
