  Jeg har hatt et fantastisk opphold på Hotel Occidental. Personalet har vært utrolig hyggelig, profesjonelt og hjelpsomt, og jeg har følt meg veldig godt ivaretatt gjennom hele oppholdet. En spesiell takk til resepsjonistene Kawtar og Chaima, som har møtt meg med varme, vennlighet og et stort smil. Deres gode service og positive holdning har virkelig gjort oppholdet mitt ekstra spesielt. Tusen takk til hele teamet for den gode servicen og gjestfriheten.   We arrived late, and the hotel was clean. It was clearly a busy hotel with many guests, lively music, a pleasant atmosphere, and a lovely smell throughout the property. The swimming pool was wonderful. As we stayed in October, it was almost always empty, and it seemed that we were practically the only ones using it! The water was warm, which made the experience even more enjoyable. The hotel bar was also open and available. I would especially like to mention Badia, who does her job wonderfully. We are sincerely grateful to her for her kindness and professionalism. The staff deserve special praise. Everyone was smiling, greeting us warmly, and treating us with genuine kindness. Nobody asked for tips or made us feel obliged to give any, which we really appreciated. I would also like to give special recognition to the lady who cleaned our room. Her name is Hajar tahiri - she did an excellent job and showed tremendous patience. We sincerely hope that the management will recognise her hard work and consider giving her a salary increase. She truly deserves it! Unfortunately, there were a few issues regarding payment. We paid for our stay through Booking.com, and yet we were asked repeatedly to prove that the payment had been made. At one point, staff even took a photograph of our payment receipt directly from our phone. The following day, we were asked once again to provide proof, even though the payment had already gone through and we had sent the confirmation some time before. We were also asked to pay the tourist tax separately. We have absolutely no objection to paying the required tourist tax, and we understand that this is a normal procedure. However, the hotel had sent us a payment link just 48 hours before our arrival, and we made a payment of almost €2,000. Naturally, it was frustrating to have to go down to reception every day and repeatedly prove that we had already paid.

  One more issue that really bothered us was the room key cards. They kept losing their programming, meaning that we repeatedly found ourselves unable to enter our room. Every time, we had to go all the way down to reception to have the card reactivated, only for it to stop working again a couple of hours later. This was very inconvenient and frustrating. Another uncomfortable aspect was the attitude of some of the women working at the restaurant entrance. Their manner sometimes felt rather intimidating, almost as if we were being inspected rather than welcomed. We often felt as though we had to apologise for something, simply because of the disapproving looks we received. A warmer and more welcoming approach would make a real difference to the guest experience. Despite these issues, we genuinely enjoyed our stay and were happy with the hotel overall. The atmosphere, the pool, and especially the kindness and professionalism of most of the staff made our holiday memorable. We would be happy to consider staying here again, provided that these practical issues are addressed. Another important concern was the condition of the newer swimming pool. The paint was peeling, and there was no lighting, which made it difficult to see clearly. Unfortunately, I badly hit my leg while using the pool. This was painful and could have been avoided if the pool had been properly maintained and adequately illuminated. We strongly recommend that the hotel address these issues to ensure the safety of its guests.
