Disappointing
Staff seemed to be new as they had to ask for advice when they were serving us.
The constant boiler or water supply noise which increased every time someone use the shower or went to the toilet. I have videos that contain the noise up until midnight so loud we couldn’t go to sleep. Being charged £26 for the dogs to stay was totally unacceptable as this should’ve been explained when we checked in not when we checked out.

Location, breakfast and staff all excellent. As was cleanliness and comfort of the room.
Signs on doors to show guests how to get from pub to bedrooms and vice versa would be helpful. Also a sign on the ensuite mirror (or a note on the information card left in the room) that the mirror provides a lovely touch light. We only realised this the following morning.

Overnight stay on an a noisy bank holiday.
Good location in centre of Hope.
The room was directly above the bar, and we were only told when we arrived that the bar would be open till 1 in the morning so it was very noisy. Room was ok but dated. At breakfast we were greeted by the manager complaining that his system wasn't working and all the guests were coming down early although it was well past 8am which was the time for breakfast. It wasnt a great start after a night not sleeping well because of the noise and the breakast when it arrived was adequate but not something I'd look forward to eating again! All in all I think the Old Hall has gone downhill and is not as good as it was a few years ago.
