Great place to stay
Silvia is a wonderful host. Her place is truly a home away from home. Everything provided for a great stay. Close to restaurants, transport and shops.
Not necessarily a negative but a little further out of the city than anticipated - although the view out of the windows made it feel like Tuscany.

Stay in a real Florentine apartment
Silvia’s apartment is the perfect stay in Florence. My favourite part? It’s far away from the crowds and tourists (bit overwhelming), yet 20 minutes or less to the main sites and a few blocks from Santo Spiritu bars and authentic trattorias. Don’t stay near the Duomo. Stay in Oltrarno; the closer to Porta Romana, the better. Silvia’s place is a cozy Florence apartment. You feel as if you were staying at your friends or family’s house. You have a room with a big bed and a bunk bed, plus the living room has a sofa bed. I didn’t need such a big place as I was traveling solo, but I’m so glad I found Silvia. Thank you again for the welcoming presents and all the tips, and of course for calling a taxi to take me to the station.
Mind you it’s on the second floor (3rd in American terms) and no lift, but I knew this beforehand and Silvia insisted on carrying my luggage herself.
