The location.
Heating and hot water were disappointing, especially considering how cold Lake Tekapo can be. The living room heating was only 2/10. The fireplace was not powerful enough to keep the room comfortably warm, and although there was a fireplace, the heat did not last very long. The bedrooms were extremely cold—1/10 for heating. There was no adequate heating, and no electric blankets were provided, which made sleeping uncomfortable during the cold nights. The bathrooms were also 2/10. There was not enough hot water, and the water temperature was difficult to adjust and keep consistent.
