Wasps through a party in my room and staff weren't bothered
The staff were kind enough to drive me around the corner to a wedding function as there are only two taxi companies in the area and the hotel was quoted a 45 min wait.
After a wedding function, there were several wasps in my room after I left only one window open, but the lights were off and all curtains closed. I lured them into the bathroom and locked 6 of them in, deciding I would urinate into a bottle. There were more in my lampshade, which was positioned in such a way that I couldn't see them, and I eventually woke up a friend who had a number for the staff in his room. Called them at 4am and asked if they had any wasp repellent sprays. I was told they had candles in the yard to deter them, but there was nothing they could do, and there were no other rooms available. A staff member did come and told me "if you leave them alone, they will leave you alone." I said a friend was down the hall and I can ask him to sleep on his floor as this wasn't safe. He began catching the wasps and killing them with his bare hands for half an hour. Not enough characters to type but the TLDR is he reluctantly offered me a room (that magically became available) "if you really feel like you need to," but only after gaslighting me into thinking it was normal and left me with a few of them to kill myself. 5.30am sleep. Yes, I was eventually offered another room, but only after I was told on the phone there were no other rooms; after his attempt to tell me to just "leave them alone;" after saying I would have to sleep on another wedding guest's floor; and after using repeated language that made me feel like I was being too sensitive for not wanting to sleep in a room with wasps. Afterwards, I had to send a second message on booking.com to my complaint and they said it wasn't their fault, they couldn't control the wasps, when my complaint wasn't about the wasps, it was their poor response. I requested a 50% refund but they never even responded to booking.com, which is a joke.

Relaxing atmosphere. Helpful Staff. Comfortable, quiet rooms. Great Breakfast
Great Breakfast, staff went above and beyond to accommodate an early check in as we had a wedding to get to.

Quiet, beautiful, comfortable room
I spent 2 peaceful nights here in a lovely room with a very comfortable bed. I didn't take advantage of the breakfast or dinner but did enjoy a glass of wine in the lovely bar. The staff were so nice - I would highly recommend. and I'd come back!
