Perfect location for a couple of nights stay before heading off on the NC 500

Nice views from the kitchen across the canal and lake. Great people and dog watching as many walk along the canal. Not real private, but is certainly part of the charm of the place. Well provisioned kitchen with items like bread, butter, milk muffins, and other items. The wood stove was a treat for being there in the fall. The bed is very comfy and overall the apartment is very roomy. Having a washer and a dryer was a treat. A few small passenger trains go by the front, but they are going slow and seriously you hardly notice them. It is a bit of a walk into town, revommend having a car. Lovely place. Nice pub nearby.
A small nitpick, but the refrigerator does not have a freezer compartment.
