A few comfort tweeks could enhance a lovely environment
Beautiful gardens and location. Good for scenic drives and Cango Caves, Ostrich farms, a neighbouring winery, a Biblical garden. Heard there are some hikes in the area but not verified.
Shabby for the price. It is evident that the owners have probably not stayed in our unit. Asked for 2x single beds but had to arrange on arrival, bathroom door didn't close, 1 bathrobe/2 people, bedside lamps out of reach, not possible to use all electical points, impractical position for an inferior filter coffee machine, no bread knife. Would have felt more welcome if there was some insect spray as we were bitten and itchy etc.

I booked a stay at Oue Werf Guesthouse for my parents, and they thoroughly enjoyed it. The accommodation was spacious and looked exactly like the pictures. Their room had dressing gowns, towels and clean bedding, as well as a little kitchenette equipped with all the essentials, including a microwave, small fridge, kettle and sink. Unfortunately, the weather was poor that weekend, so they couldn’t enjoy facilities such as the swimming pool. Breakfast is available in the restaurant, but it was not included in their booking and had to be paid for separately. They found it a little pricey and were not given a quotation beforehand showing the exact cost. My husband and I stayed at Buffelsdrift, approximately 4 km away. In my opinion, its breakfast buffet offers better value, with a wider variety at the same price and a beautiful view. Booking beforehand is required. I would definitely recommend Oue Werf for a comfortable stay. HOWEVER based on my parents’ breakfast experience, I would suggest exploring other dining options nearby.
