We paid up to have a balcony overlooking the lake. We were right behind a large tree - no sight of the lake except a little slot along one side. We would have not spent the money to stay here had we known we would not have a lake view. It is a very nice facility, but we were only in Skaneateles less than 24 hours, so it was not worth the money spent to us. If it had been later or earlier in the year when there were no leaves on the tree, it would possibly have been better.

Loved Skaneatles after meeting a couple of local shopkeepers who gave us some ideas and suggestions.
Its location on the Main Street looking over the lake Close proximity to the Sherwood Inn and other businesses
It was very dark and lacked any atmosphere. No local guides or history (or any tourist info of any sort) in the room
