    Beautiful.

    We have had an amazing stay and made plenty of memories, thank you. The staff was great on arrival and had a fire waiting for us in the beautiful cottage we had the privilege of staying in.

    - Hot Water - we have had no hot water for the past 2 days at the cottage - I looked in the manual and it shows pictures, but doesn’t tell me where to change the heat settings. - ⁠As mentioned in my previous messages, the previous guests trash was left unattended to - this also limited us to the space we were able to use for throwing away rubbish and coals etc. - ⁠I think it would be worth mentioning that you would need to advise guests on how bad the road is entering the cottage. I have an SUV and there are scratch marks from thorn bushes all over the sides of my car, and if it was a small car, we still would have struggled to maneuver the terrain. - ⁠Some peaceful sleep or bug repellent would be a great, cheap and a helpful addition to the cottage. We are not even in summer and the horse flies and bugs were attacking us throughout the weekend. We went to Witsand to go buy some and no one had stock. - Outdoor light by braai and patio wasn’t working which made cooking at night difficult

    We stayed at Paddahoek for a week and absolutely loved every minute of it. The accommodation was beautiful, peaceful, and incredibly comfortable. Everything was clean, well-maintained, and thoughtfully prepared for our stay. The surroundings in Vermaaklikheid are stunning and the atmosphere was so relaxing — the perfect place to unwind and escape from busy city life. We especially enjoyed the quietness, nature, and the overall charm of the property. The hosts were friendly and welcoming, and made us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. We honestly did not want to leave and will definitely be back again. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a peaceful and memorable getaway!

    Peace and quiet with a fly in the ointment.

    Silence and no distractions in a village that has only one shop ( not always open). Similary for the only restuarant.

    The biting flies. I don't know if these are seasonal or related to proximity of the river. Peaceful sleep seems to work. Fortunately not active after dark. Unfortunately also no access to the beach at Puntjie.

    Will return to Paddahoek

    I love the seclusion and that it was pet friendly. We enjoyed along outside and using the outside braai

    I would have liked a shower inside the house
