A total success - any problems were our own. We loved Padua.
This was a splendid old family apartment in a delightful, characterful old palazzo, maintained as it had been lived in by the family, some of whom still live in the building. It was immensely spacious, full of interesting furniture and books, with a well equipped kitchen. The owner (and his mother on one occasion) were very friendly and helpful. The location, in an old, rather lively and interesting street very close to the centre, was perfect (there's some street noise from below especially at the weekend, but I didn't mind this, since it gave the locality a feeling of life).

Unique, memorable, great host!
The host, Fillippo, helped us with the check-in process then drove us to the airport himself to avoid early morning taxi mix-ups. It was great to hear about the background to this unique family property!
