DO NOT BOOK THE CHEAP DOUBLE ROOM
The breakfast was very good and the ladies serving breakfast are very friendly and attentive. The bed was comfortable and the room was very clean. The location between train / bus station and the old town is excellent.
TLDR: The noise, view and decoration of the cheapest double room are a huge disappointment for the price and spoil the experience of an otherwise pleasant boutique hotel. The room "O Sarraccino" was so far below expectations, it was literally subterranean. This room may be listed as "Classic Double Room", "Basic Double Room" or, misleadingly, just "Double Room", even though it is far below the standard of the other Double Rooms at the hotel. The whole Sorrento and Amalfi coast area is overrated and overpriced but we really felt ripped off compared to similar boutique hotels we stayed at for the same price in Rome and Naples on the same trip. The room would be disappointing at half the price. The description of garden view or mountain view on the listing is a downright lie. I don't expect to see herds of wildebeest sweeping majestically across the plains but if the listing says there's a view then you expect to at least see something more than the wall of the next building. Instead of the garden or mountain, you will enjoy ankle level views through a tiny barred window of the entrance patio of the neighbouring property with no chance of seeing the sky. As a special treat, every other day you can also see the neighbours rubbish bags that are left directly in front of the window to brighten up your morning. The room is sparsely decorated, and looks nothing like the other rooms shown in the pictures with beautiful wallpaper and lamps. This is more prison cell chic, with plain white walls, the most basic open wardrobe and the window with bars across it. The tiled floor was freezing cold, although fortunately slippers are provided. The towels are changed daily, which is not at all environmentally friendly, but also means that they are worn out, frayed around the edges and quite rough compared to other places we stayed, they really should be retired.

Inmejorable

Lovely gem of a hotel in the perfect spot!
Staff was fabulous and so accommodating. Excellent location. Super comfortable beds with a pillow FINALLY like mine at home! Loved that. :) Rooms and facility absolutely lovely.
Allow guests to use the 4th floor dining area for their own meals or gatherings (happy hour) since there isn't a lobby. We were able to use it and cleaned up after ourselves, but I understand this isn't the custom and it should be since it's nice to have a place to go have a drink or snacks with others staying in the property.
