Lovely hosts, spacious rooms and a great location near the beach; a bit of daytime road noise, but well worth it.

The owners were incredibly warm and attentive, and we felt welcome from the very first moment. The rooms are spacious; our room even had two bathrooms, which was very convenient. Breakfast is simple, but it has everything you need. We especially appreciated that the rooms were cleaned and the beds made every day. A beautiful beach is about a ten minute walk away, with reasonable prices of around 16 euros for two sunbeds and an umbrella, and food and drinks available too. One lovely tip: just 50 metres from the palazzo there is a wine merchant offering excellent local wines, well worth a visit. And about 200 metres away there is a Spar supermarket with everything you need.

The hotel is located on a fairly busy road. During the day it can be quite noisy with the thin windows, though it gets quieter at night. Guests who aren't used to this might find it disturbing. There aren't many restaurants nearby, so you'll quickly need to take the bus or car to Sorrento for more choice. If you come by car, you'll need to park in a blue zone about ten minutes away. This was no problem in the shoulder season, but it could be difficult in high season.

Unfortunately, our stay at this hotel was very disappointing. We stayed for four nights, and during that entire time, our water and tea were never replenished. For a multi-night stay, we expected at least the basic amenities to be restocked. The room also did not look like the photos advertised online. The pictures felt very misleading, with a lot of random Asian-themed photos and decor despite the hotel being in Italy. There were also decorative lamps that appeared to serve no purpose because they couldn’t even be plugged in. The tea kettle was another issue. There was no proper place near an outlet to safely set it up, so we had to put it on the floor just to be able to plug it in and use it. The bed was extremely old and very squeaky, which made it difficult to get a comfortable night’s sleep. The cleanliness and overall upkeep were also disappointing. Each morning, the hotel looked like a laundry pit, with towels scattered all over the stairs and throughout the halls. This gave the property a very unkempt and poorly maintained appearance. We also had a serious privacy and security concern with the bathroom window. The half-wall window overlooking our second-floor patio did not lock, which was very uncomfortable and made us feel that our privacy was not adequately protected. There is also no public restroom available in the lobby, which was inconvenient. The most concerning incident, however, happened during our stay when the gentleman who assisted us with check-in opened our hotel room door after only two quick knocks, without waiting for permission or confirmation that we were ready for someone to enter. This was extremely inappropriate and could have resulted in a serious privacy issue, as we could have been undressed or otherwise exposed. Overall, there were too many basic maintenance, cleanliness, comfort, and privacy concerns for us to feel that this hotel provided a good experience or value. We would not stay here again.
