    Great location but not an enjoyable stay

    The apartment was brilliant on the surface, it had all the amenities for a family, with plenty of space and windows that opened to let in the fresh air.

    When we arrived the cleaners were still cleaning and we had to wait. When we entered it was over powered with aerosol deodorant spray, and I come to realise why, after 24hours of that wearing off the apartment smelt of sewerage. We booked the apartment to have the double bed in the main room and two double beds in the other room, when we arrived it was only 1 king bed in the other room for my two teens to share, which i think is an error on booking.com we did checked the bedding prior but was told to remind them, which we did see that message till later. We made do and split the beds ourselves, only to find the owner entered the apartment without our permissions and proceeded to film it and send us a video to not leave air con on and put cushions on the couch properly!!! This was not ok. The mattress in the main bedroom was so bad, I never slept, when I looked it was an old futon mattress and the pillow were so bad they folded to nothing.

    An amazing stay in a superb location

    The location was amazing, in the centre of town , less than 5 minutes from the Pantheon and very close to lovely restaurants, cafes and shops. The layout of the apartment meant that once inside it was also very peaceful which was excellent. Out host was very firnedly and welcoming with clear instructions on how to access the property which made check in effortless. His restaurant recommendations were great too.

    I did not realise it was up three flights of stairs. This was fine for me but was tiring for my 80 year old mother in law. We took it slowly and it was definitely worth the climb
