Good
Lovely and helpful owner and having an outdoor kitchen.
Didn’t realize our room was connected to owners home so a bit of noise transferred

Good luck with this one
We guess if you know the owner personally or are part of the inner circle, it’s an attractive and peaceful place to be. Nice garden.
The foreign owner apparently controls everything but was on the other side of the Atlantic Ocean, making problem-solving challenging since she was asleep in Europe when we arrived in Costa Rica from Panama. Incredibly, the property’s own cleaning staff failed to leave the key in the agreed-upon lockbox outside the main gate, causing us to have to wait about half an hour with nobody answering the doorbell or phone until some friend of the owner’s finally showed up casually and aloofly opened the gate as if somehow we were the problem. NOBODY in Puerto Viejo/Cocles, etc has ever heard of this place, nor has the owner bothered to register a pin location or even a description of an address on Google Maps or any other source, despite apparently operating for five years now. It was a total guessing-game finding the place; no address given, and nobody in the area had ever heard of it. There was no internet available during our stay (but we get it; it’s the tropics; it’s rainy season; storms happen; we understand the reality) however pushing/featuring high-speed WiFi as a property perk might be more honest if it was made clear that there is nobody on the premises who is really too concerned if it goes out. They all have local phone plans and it’s seems that it’s always somebody else’s job to care. Finally, we would caution all guests to be aware of the completely bizarre bedposts the foreign owners designed themselves, that have unnecessary sharp hardwood projections precisely at knee level when you enter a bedroom doorway, seemingly designed specifically for smashing your knees. We have traveled the world and have never seen a piece of furniture so thoughtlessly hazardous — but the owner said it was their original “Caribbean design” whatever that means.
