Save yourself the money, stress, and heartache—DO NOT BOOK THIS PROPERTY.
NOTHING! WARNING!! AVOID "Peace on the Beach" – Greedy, Fraudulent, and Threatens Guest Safety We paid over $840 for a four-night stay (July 31–August 3) at "Peace on the Beach" in Panama City Beach, Florida. The name could not be a bigger misnomer; our experience was stressful, host-harassing, and completely toxic from the moment we clicked "book" on July 24. Almost immediately after payment, the owner began aggressively messaging us to upsell extra excursions and activities we never requested. But the true nightmare began the very next day. Weather reports from the Weather Channel and local alerts confirmed that central Florida and PCB were directly in the path of a severe tropical storm. We were scheduled to make an 18-hour drive from New York to Florida with three young children, three adults, and a cat. Driving across the country into a dangerous, predicted washout was simply not an option for our family's safety. When we reached out to express our valid concerns, the owner’s response was astonishingly dismissive, reckless, and greedy. They callously told us, "Florida's storms aren't that bad. It rains one minute then stops the next. You should still come." We were flabbergasted. Expecting a family with three small children to drive nearly 2,000 miles for a soggy, unsafe vacation spent trapped in a rental during a tropical storm is completely absurd. When we pressed the issue, the owner doubled down on their refusal to care. We turned to Booking.com, who agreed that traveling to a beach destination during a tropical storm was ridiculous and acknowledged our refund was justified—yet they washed their hands of the situation and hid behind the owner's policy. The greedy host refused a full refund, eventually offering a insultingly low $200 back out of our $840—demanding we absorb a $640 penalty for prioritizing our family's safety during a state-forecasted storm. (CONTINUED IN NEXT SECTION!)
We flat-out refused their $200 low-ball attempt. We knew that accepting it would allow them to re-list the property, exploit another family, double their profits, and silence our voice. Sure enough, the tropical storm hit PCB hard that weekend—confirming our fears and proving that the host was willing to put three young children and an entire family in harm's way just to line their pockets. Thankfully, after providing all proof of the severe weather warnings and the host's fraudulent conduct, our bank rightfully refunded every single penny. These hosts are greedy, manipulative, difficult, and utterly devoid of basic human empathy or customer service. They do not care about your safety, your time, or your hard-earned money—they only care about a quick buck. They would never subject their own families to an 18-hour drive into a tropical storm, yet they expected us to do it. Run far away from "Peace on the Beach." Save your sanity and book with hosts who actually value human life over profit. (JUST LOOK AT HOW THEY RESPOND SO MEANLY TO PEOPLE'S REVIEWS ON HERE AND THAT WILL TELL YOU EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW! WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND! )
