    4th time in Crete, Kato Veni is worth the detour. Great place.

    The serenity. You go there and experience what natives do - a vast ambience, huge horizons, soft sunsets and good company. The place is within easy reach of the high way - that is huge. The garden is spacious. The view is just as in the photos. Make sure you stay at night watching the stars. This is my 4th time in Crete and this place is quite good.

    The room demands a renovation. The fridge is noisy.

    The name of this accomodation is perfectly on point: it is private and peaceful; It's perfect if you wanna visit this particular part of Crete, Samaria Gorge and beaches such as Falasarna, Chania's beaches, and also Elafonissi and Kedrosados (30 minutes to  1 hour by car) but also Balos and Gramvousa; 15/20 minutes from Kissamos which has such lovely restaurants/tavernas/pubs; The cottage is in a relaxed context, the only noise you'll hear is from nature; Inside there's everything you need, but I think that the external garden is the key point, so lovely and beautiful, a lot of plants, and a private spot with chairs and table if you wanna have a moment of relax, and the perfect happy hour;
