The restaurant was lovely. The location was great too
We booked a two-night stay in a suite through Booking.com, paying £781, including an additional charge for free cancellation. Unfortunately, what should have been a lovely weekend away turned into an incredibly disappointing experience. Also this review is in no way a reflection of the night manager or restaurant staff, who were all incredibly courteous, accommodating and kind. My fundamental issue is that management knowingly sells rooms to the general public that are situated so close to a wedding venue that they are practically uninhabitable during celebrations. These rooms should simply NOT be available to book when weddings are taking place, particularly at these prices. On both evenings, our suite was quite literally vibrating from the music. This was not a little background noise or the distant sound of a wedding. The noise was so excessive that sleeping was almost impossible. On the first night, we tried our best to tolerate it. We had the air conditioning running, the television turned up loudly and eventually resorted to wearing headphones in bed. I finally fell asleep around 1am. By the second night, however, the noise was unbearable. I went to speak with the night receptionist, who appeared well aware of the issue. On the previous evening, we'd been told the corridor doors could be kept closed to minimise the noise. When I raised this, he informed me it was "impossible". He then looked at his watch and told me it was 10pm, the wedding noise should finish by midnight, and there was nothing he could do. Apparently, we were expected to tolerate another two hours of intolerable noise, alongside children running up and down the corridor outside our room. He also insisted I'd received an email warning me about the noise, which I hadn't. He then informed me that weddings take place every Saturday and Sunday and suggested I should have known this before booking.

Surprisingly very good.
Dinner was very good. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was perfect. They have extremely good chefs for both. The room was lovely looking over the garden at the back .
The only thing I could fault was there was no handheld shower head in the shower, just the rainfall.
