    Horrible, terrifying place and poor reception

    There's nothing appealing about the place, all I need is a refund. I couldn't sleep in that horrible place.

    I found the place dark with no lights on, there wasn't any person to welcome, orientate us. There's no reception office, the path to the place isn't clearly indicated. I made several calls to the numbers provided in the email from the place. Ultimately one of them responded to say he's not on duty. I tried the second person who told us that we must open the door and get ourselves settled. Imagine being directed to a dark place you aren't familiar with. After sometime the guy who said he wasn't on duty came to switch lights on for us, then we could see a place that's filthy beyond imagination. Walls are peeling and damp. Curtains, linen was dirty. No other provisions for linen, no towels, filthy ablution facilities. We called the lady again to explain the unexpected, she told us that there is nothing she could do. We then had to leave and find an alternative accommodation. Remember we aren't familiar with the place, our safety was our concern. We request that we be refunded.

    Idyllic - highly recommend

    Pear Tree Cottage is an authentic old farm cottage, but with modern comforts added. It has a wonderful atmosphere with really fantastic views of the majestic Drakensberg. The cottage is super comfy, with a large kitchen, a lounge with a fire place for cozy evenings, and two decent size bedrooms, one with a double bed and one with two singles. The bathroom has a lovely large claw-foot bath for long, indulgent soaks. The magnificent views can be enjoyed from the expansive garden, and the outdoor lapa-style eating / braai area. The cottage is fully serviced by friendly staff, which is such a bonus!
