Dust, dirt and dreadful hosts
The small positive points are absolutely drowned out by the negatives.
Really where do we start! We arrived as a family of 8, 4 adults and 4 kids and upon entering the house it was immediately obvious it hasn’t been cleaned properly for some time. Dust and dead spiders on the floors and surfaces, around the beds and sofas. Passive-agressive labels on the walls and surfaces IN CAPITALS telling you what not to do, very tired furniture full of stains, only two bin bags provided for a weeks stay (although you’re expected to put everything into bin bags or you’ll incur extra cleaning fees, so we had to buy our own bin bags), same situation for toilet and kitchen roll, one very lonely horse visible through the window which is awful and frankly animal abuse (not the house owners, but horrible to see), honestly the list goes on. You have to pay a £200 deposit before your stay directly to the host - which now has been withheld for ‘additional cleaning’ - this worst bit is we actually hoovered and swept the house so it was cleaner when we left than when we arrived. I am absolutely baffled that anyone would find this acceptable and would not recommend this stay to anyone. I’ve been using booking.com for over 10 years and this is the first time ever I’ve had to leave a bad review!
