    Very much a country hotel, old house, new additions set among pretty hills - sheep, cattle, narrow roads and a few trails. Excellent for walks. As Americans we found other guests unusually courteous and interesting to chat with. Perhaps Brits and other Europeans do too, but for us it was almost a shock. Three nights provided a relaxing break from our mostly London trip.

    A tranquil countryside escape

    An absolute gem of a hotel. Historical, unique and in a perfect rural location with walks from the doorstep. The room was beautifully decorated, a wonderfully comfortable bed, spa bath and the view from the window was food for the soul. The staff are all friendly, efficient and so helpful. The food was excellent and so many places of interest nearby. A place to relax, be in nature, enjoy the peace. Perfect.
