    Authentic & perfect

    Lovely established family-run guest house a few minutes walk from the ferry dock at Katapola up a picturesque alley. The property is on a small foothill overlooking the harbour with great views of sea and port life from the 2nd floor studio balcony - perfect! Re. The room: Madam Barbara had thought of everything - even the little things. Studio was spotlessly clean with comfortable double bed, small wardrobe with plenty of hangers & ironing board, mosquito nets & blackout shutters on windows, good lighting incl beside lights, a well-stocked kitchenette with dining table, coffee machine, kettle, pots, dishes, cutlery, dish soap, etc, a balcony with outdoor furniture, flowers, clothes rack & pegs. Extra blanket for the bed. Well functioning aircon. Slippers & basic toiletries too! And the complimentary dessert wine (local rakomelo perhaps?) made for a great night cap. Other things to note: decent WiFi signal (enough for me to work remotely with brief video calls). Daily room service. Kind staff who will meet you at the ferry on arrival. Very straightforward check-in.

    No complaints at all. A perfect stay for all my needs as a solo traveller.
