Because of the properties location, mobile phone service is limited (Telstra is the only service provider with network coverage in the area) and in-room WiFi is not available due to transmission issues to the cabins. Your room does not have a TV. TV is available in the Tavern, which is open from 11:30 daily. Guests under the age of 18 can only check in with a parent or official guardian. The legal guardian must provide a current photo ID or proof of guardianship if requested upon check-in. A deposit may be required at the property.

    Cradle Mountain scenery is absolutely stunning. The Pencil Pine room was very warm and comfortable.

    We had a great dinner at the Highlander restaurant. The wildlife was lovely as were the beautiful walks around the grounds.

    It was a bit tricky getting our luggage up the stairs.

    Recommended hotel as a base for exploring the Cradle Mountain National Park.

    Excellent location right at the entrance to the National Park. The staff were excellent and helpful. The hotel has a cosy lodge/reception area. Dining and breakfast were pretty good although somewhat costly. The rooms are clean and cosy. Can park as vehicle right in front of your room. Walking to the lodge from your room is very easy.

    No TV or wifi in our room but I understand that you are there to enjoy the nature. No view whatsoever from our room. Some rooms I assume do have views but can’t confirm that. The price of our room I believe was a little high for what you get but I still recommend it as a very good place to stay as a base to explore the Cradle Mountain area.

    A wonderful way to experience the wilderness.

    Our Pencil Pine cabin was very secluded with rainforest right outside the window. The gas fire was perfect and the shower was hot and strong. Very comfortable and cosy, a welcoming hug after a day out walking in the chilly air. The lounge area in the Lodge is a great place to relax, plenty of options for meals and beverages and the staff were all very friendly and accommodating.

    Check-in was slow with quite a wait while many visitors require lengthy explanations and advice on walks etc. Perhaps a separate desk for those requiring information and one just for check-in and payment would be an advantage.
