Totally relaxing and leaving with the intention of returning in future
Beautiful. Very cozy really enjoyed our stay. My two sisters and I were visiting family so it was bliss to be in such a lovely home.

Gattonside Cottage and a beautiful short walk to Melrose
From the outset the owners were great. We easily found the place, our early arrival was no issue and the cottage was immaculate. We were super cosy and the owners dealt with a sticky door immediately. The short walk was delightful to Melrose and instantly started a lovely history to the place that included ancient Rome and all the way through to modern times with names like Robert The Bruce William Wallace and Sir Walter Scott. The Kitchen, lounge shower all were faultless and the bed was comfy too.
A corner shop or pub would have been the icing on the cake but Melrose was no further and within very easy walking distance

My stay was excellent… the property was very comfortable and clean
The location was walking distance from Melrose. A small corner shop / supermarket in Gattonside would have been very handy.
My only criticism is that the shower water could have been hotter.

This best presented and well equipped small cottage made for a very relaxing short break.
The cottage delivered everything exactly as described - lovely fresh welcoming atmosphere as soon as you opened the door. Easy to park, very quiet village but only 15 minutes walk (or short drive) into Melrose. Close by, Abbotsford and The Great Tapestry of Scotland make an excellent day out and Edinburgh is an enjoyable train journey from nearby Tweedbank. A great cottage for a couple (with a child as well?) or two adults.
