  ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Had a wonderful stay at Petit Ana Beach Retreat, Varkala! 🌴✨ The property is peaceful, beautifully maintained, and very close to the beach. The rooms were neat, clean, comfortable, and nicely designed. The staff and caretaker were very friendly, helpful, and welcoming. The service was excellent, and everything was arranged smoothly. It’s a perfect place for anyone looking for a relaxing and peaceful stay near the beach. Highly recommended! ❤️🌊 Thank you, Petit Ana Beach Retreat, for a lovely experience. 🙏

  Disappointing stay – poor management, misleading reviews, and major red flags

  Calm and quiet place

  We stayed at Petit Ana for two days, and our experience was highly disappointing. Based on our stay, I would not recommend this property to anyone. Here are the main reasons for our poor experience: Remote Location: The property is located deep in an interior area. You will face significant difficulties with transportation, and there is a lack of basic amenities nearby in case of an emergency. Unhelpful Management: The manager—a young boy who serves as the sole point of contact—is neither helpful nor proactive. Unpredictable Amenities: Basic facilities are unreliable. For instance, we had hot water on our first day, but none on the second. Poor Service: Even for basic necessities like drinking water, we had to call the manager multiple times before it was provided. Lack of Essentials: The rooms do not come equipped with an electric kettle, tea, or coffee. Lack of Maintenance: Both the rooms and the bathrooms are poorly maintained and not up to standard. No use of proximity to the sea: While there is a partial view of the sea in the distance, it is heavily blocked by nearby buildings and looks over unpleasant heaps of waste. Unprofessional Financial Red Flags: We originally booked via Booking.com. Before arrival, the manager called and asked us to cancel the booking and pay him directly, as if it was the usual practice there. He added that he'll report us as a "no-show" if we did not cancel. We ultimately cancelled and paid directly to his personal Google Pay account after arriving. Didn't think of it much then. On afterthought, this was a major red flag and highly unprofessional. Broken Promises: On our arrival day, the manager assured us that complimentary breakfast was included, but we were never provided with any. We booked this place after reading several good reviews. My guess is that those positive reviews were from when the owners were managing it directly. Currently, the property is not being run by the same standards.
