    Definitely a great choice

    The house is very spacious in Japan standards and very well decorated with antiques. There are restrooms in each room and the public area is also quite cozy. The kitchen is fully equipped so you can prepare easy meals. Location is also good, with about 10 min walking distance (in ski boots) to the gondola and also close to the bus stop.

    For travelers with no car, very limited choices (almost none) for restaurants within walking distance. Convenient store is also quite far away. Better to make dinner reservations in downtown area and take the bus (need to carefully check the bus timetable). If you can't speak Japanese, it's very difficult to call taxi by phone (we tried and waited for 1.5h+ and got cancelled eventually).
