  Das Haus bzw das Nebenhaus sind großzügig gestaltet. Die Küchengeräte sind modern und funktionieren einwandfrei. Großes Bad mit schöner Dusche. Die Wegbeschreibung der Vermieterin war sehr hilfreich. Die Vermieterin hat auch vorab darauf hingewiesen, dass der Müll vorsortiert etwa 4 km entfernt vom Wohnhaus entsorgt werden muss.

  Das Haus ist schon merklich in die Jahre gekommen. Die Türen lassen sich teils schwer schließen und quietschen laut. Der Hot-Pot sprudelte nicht (er war aber angenehm warm und sauber). Im Ofen auf der Terrasse fanden sich unzähligen Zigarettenstummel. Etwas ungewöhnlich ist, dass sich zwei separate Betten (von insgesamt acht) außerhalb des Wohnhauses befinden. Dieses Nebenhaus verfügt aber über ein eigenes Badezimmer mit Toilette. Die Lampen und Leuchten waren teils defekt oder flackerten. Der Schlüsseltresor klemmt bzw lässt sich manchmal kaum öffnen.

  Cosy cabin with fantastic view and geothermal hot tub

  The location was fabulous, the property looks out over the valley and on a clear day you can see the snow covered peaks of Hekla, Tindfjallajokull and Eyjafjallajokull in the distance. You can see the main road of the golden circle below in the valley (including the tour busses) but in general it is very quiet. There is only 1 other house on this road, before you get to this one, though hikers and horses can come by. The property is well furnished and the hot tub is amazing: it is filled with running geothermal waters so no need for cleaning chemicals like stand-alone hot tubs generally have. The kitchen was well supplied and there are board games and books (Icelandic, English, German) in the house. The separate annex with double bed and a bathroom is good for a little separation, e.g. for elderly relatives or the parents. It does require crossing to the main house outdoors, on what can be a wet patio.

  Just a few things could be improved: the lighting above the cooking facility did not work, a reading lamp next to the sofa would have been nice and the kettle did not switch off automatically which means we had to unplug it to stop it. A bedside lamp in a side room did not provide enough light to read by, and we missed a bird book of Iceland. The loft room (twin beds) does not have standing height, not even for older children, nor does it have a door but it has a curtain to keep out the light. Our teenager loved this space though :-). Be aware that there are stairs leading up to the property, and we did not find any hiking trails starting near the cottage, nor any map of such local trails. Hiking is possible in the vicinity though and Geysir is only 10 minutes by car (Gullfoss 20 minutes, the Brurafoss hike is also nice and very near). These are small things and I would happily stay here again.

  Alles in bester Ordnung, super Lage, super sauber.

  Matratzen, allerdings ist das ja auch subjektiv

  L’emplacement près des differents points d’intérets du cercle d’or. La tranquilité du lieu, une grande étendue immense devant la terasse. Le jacuzzi est un vraie plus après des journées de randonnée.

  Rien, juste a noter que la route est caillouteuse pour y aller (comme beaucoup de logements en islande)
