AVOID — $1,300 FOR A DISGRACEFUL EXPERIENCE Four nights at Villa 7, Namu Villas, cost us approximately AUD $1,300 for what was supposed to be our honeymoon. Instead, we got cockroaches inside the villa, a dirty pool, missing basic provisions, and honeymoon decorations and wine that didn’t arrive until day three. Our privacy was invaded in an incident involving other guests, and when we raised concerns, we experienced an intimidating remark that we understood as a warning that we’d “see trouble” if we complained or left a bad review. We requested a refund. Booking.com told us the property had to agree, yet the villa has blocked us on Instagram rather than resolving the dispute. Non-refundable does not mean problem-free, and it certainly doesn’t excuse this experience. We are approximately $1,300 out of pocket for accommodation that fell well below our expectations. We would never stay here again. Think very carefully before booking.

DO NOT BOOK VILLA 7 AT NAMU VILLAS — $1,300 DOWN THE DRAIN Our four-night stay at Villa 7, Namu Villas, cost us approximately AUD $1,300. It was supposed to be part of our honeymoon. Instead, it became an expensive, stressful and deeply disappointing experience that we are still trying to resolve from home. The reality of our stay: * Cockroaches inside the villa. Completely unacceptable for accommodation charging the prices we paid. * A dirty swimming pool. Floating debris and sediment remained a problem despite attempts to clean it. * Honeymoon inclusions delivered on the third day. The promised wine and decorations arrived when we had already spent most of our stay dealing with disappointment. * Basic provisions missing. Even drinking water was an issue. * Our privacy was invaded in an incident involving other guests. What should have been a private honeymoon became an uncomfortable experience. * An intimidating response to our complaints. We understood a remark about leaving a negative review or contacting Booking.com to mean that we would “see trouble.” No paying guest should feel intimidated for raising concerns. When questions arose about our movements, the facts matter: we were collecting our MotoGP tickets, and the property arranged the taxi for that purpose. That should not be misrepresented as us voluntarily abandoning the accommodation or accepting the conditions. The refund situation has been just as frustrating. We paid approximately $1,300 for four nights and sought a refund because of the problems we experienced. Booking.com told us that, because our reservation was non-refundable, the property had to agree to the refund. Booking.com contacted the villa, but the dispute remains unresolved. The property has also blocked us on Instagram. Think about that. Guests pay a substantial amount for a special occasion, report serious problems with the accommodation, seek a reasonable resolution, and end up blocked while still fighting to recover their mo
