An idea to visit Cologne for just one day and a good choice of a place to sleep from Saturday too Sunday. Home atmosphere, like visiting a family. I came late because of delayed Ryanair plane from Leeds. A friendly pair of hosts were waiting for me till after midnight not showing any signs of justified impatience, instead welcoming me with smiles on their faces and warm words. You've got everything in the room, enough sockets for recharging your ear buds, phones, power banks. A nice private kitchen to make tea or coffee, books (unfortunately in German only) and even some toys for your children on the bookshelf if you came with ones. In the morning a perfect continental breakfast with super fresh bakery, to my amazement even on Sunday! A help on your every step, even if you don't expect or ask, showing you where is the bus stop, how to buy tickets and validate them or not, what time is the bus to reach the destination you're looking for. I came to see Three Magi Kings reliquary in the cathedral, but also the tomb of John Duns Scotus in Minoriten Kirche, just in a kind of private pilgrimage connected with some private literary project. Except for late planes both ways, everything as planned after regeneration at the cozy bedroom.

Sehr freundliches Gastgeberpaar, abgeschlossene Räumlichkeiten im Dachgeschoss, großzügig geschnitten, gutes und reichliches Frühstück. Für den Besuch einer Tagung in Köln Westhofen gut gelegen.
