We are incredibly disappointed and saddened by our experience at this property, particularly as a young family travelling with two small children. After reading such wonderful reviews online, we arrived with high expectations and genuinely believed we were booking somewhere clean, comfortable and suitable for our family. Unfortunately, the property was not as advertised, and the reality was far from what we had expected. The condition of the property was extremely concerning. Although the photos online showed that the bathtub was not cracked and that no visible mould, even inactive mould, could be seen on the walls, the property we arrived at did not match that impression. There was black mould throughout the property, including in the shower, kitchen and on the lounge ceiling. It appeared that little to no attempt had been made to properly address it. The bathtub also had a significant crack, which raised serious concerns about safety and hygiene, especially with two young children. Our son has asthma, so discovering mould throughout the property was particularly distressing. We did not feel comfortable or safe staying there and made the difficult decision to leave on the day we checked in. We returned the keys and contacted the owner straight away, followed by Booking.com shortly afterwards. We then had to find alternative accommodation at short notice and at considerably greater expense. What has made this experience even more upsetting is the way the refund has been handled. At the time, the owner seemed willing to help resolve the situation if we had booked directly through him, but advised us that we would need to go through Booking.com regarding our refund. We followed that advice and have now spent weeks going back and forth with Booking.com, providing evidence and explaining our concerns, only to be told that the owner has declined our refund. As a young family, this has been incredibly disheartening.

Had to book somewhere local due to repairs on my own home
The property was clean and comfortable, very fresh just beautiful. It actually felt like a home from home it was cozy. Beds are the comfiest I’ve ever slept in. Any questions Chris was on hand at the other end of the phone.

Will stay again
The beds were comfortable, the house was very clean throughout, good car parking, close to the town centre. Chris was very helpful whenever I had a question. Lovely stay!
I struggled to turn the shower on as the lever must have been very stiff, but the bath was lovely and clean.

Everything I needed - would return
Check-in and check-out were quick and contactless; I received the lockbox code on the morning of my stay. The location is excellent; less than 10 minutes' walk from the station, but quiet and tucked away off the main road. The hosts provide tea and coffee facilities (but no milk), toiletries, tableware, cutlery, and ample bedding and towels. The bed is comfy, I enjoyed my bath, and there is a spacious garden and lounge and a TV with the main streaming apps.
There's a welcome folder, but the information doesn't match the property, so the Wi-Fi network it mentions doesn't exist (instead, see the underside of the router in the living room) and the instructions for the shower don't apply to this bathroom (be prepared to have a bath instead). There are no curtains anywhere, just vertical blinds, so a lot of light gets in to the bedrooms in the mornings. If there was a hairdryer, I couldn't find it. The place has been cleaned in a cursory way (fresh sheets and towels) but is a bit cobwebbed and would benefit from more attention especially in the kitchen.
