    Magical little cosy haven

Beautiful property in a beautiful location. A row three converted stone buildings we stayed in the middle one. Nicely decorated the most comfy sofa and the bedroom above on an open mezzanine. Downstairs bathroom and kitchen. Simply furnished and warm and cosy. The hosts live on site in the main farm house, with their lovely dogs, a stable houses their horses, on the field behind donkeys Shetlands and sheep . A welcome gift of a pint of milk, some Yorkshire tea and nescafe gold giving a warm welcome to us. The 2 Gordon's gin and tonics were most appreciated too! We stayed here to go to the pickering 1940s festival and perfect for us to drive to in 15 mins. If your a fan of dark skies and stargazing this property is absolutely the perfect place to come. Never seen such a gorgeous black sky ,shining with splendour . An unexpected treat ! Martyn and Hilary and family you made us so very welcome. Thank you all so much .

Not a dislike but the stairs are wooden, with a curve at the bottom. I have some mobility issues so extra caution needed. If you are tall, the attic bedroom slope may be a challenge to not bang your noggin.

Would highly recommend as a lovely place to stay.

The cottage was in a wonderful setting , outstanding views . The cottage was Very clean & spacious. Big comfy bed. Martin and Hils were very welcoming also their son George who helped out when car wouldn’t start. Lovely people. Great knowledge of the outstanding area where to eat and best places to see .

Just a little thing , could do with another bed side lamp . ( for someone who doesn’t like getting up in the dark ) .
