Beautiful, Spacious Retreat with Breathtaking Bay Views
Purangi Waterfront Retreat is a beautiful and very spacious apartment on the second floor of a residential house, with two large bedrooms, two bathrooms and a wonderful living room with breathtaking views over the bay. The apartment is very cosy and tastefully furnished, with lots of lovely details and even a great selection of books to read. Unfortunately, we didn’t have enough time to enjoy them. We stayed during winter, which was a bit of a shame, as I can imagine this place must be even more beautiful in summer. We would happily consider staying here again, especially in summer, as the apartment itself and the location are truly beautiful.
The apartment was quite cold during our winter stay, even with the heating on, and after turning it off overnight it became uncomfortably cold. We also found the welcome rather impersonal. The key handover was very brief, and apart from that we had no contact with the hosts during our stay, even though they lived nearby. This felt a little unusual compared with the many other places we stayed during our trip.

The accommodation was spacious, spotlessly clean, and very comfortable, — perfect for a relaxing stay. The view over the bay was beautiful, yet the place was incredibly peaceful and quiet. The location was also excellent, with Cathedral Cove and Hot Water Beach both nearby, making it a great base for exploring the area. We especially loved waking up to the sound of birds in the morning. The whole place was beautifully decorated with lovely little touches that showed the host’s great taste and attention to detail. Everything felt thoughtfully arranged and made our stay even more enjoyable. A beautiful, peaceful, and very comfortable place to stay — we would definitely recommend it!
