I didn’t want to have to leave this review. I tried reaching out to the owners personally, but was met with responses only from the person they have appointed to run this rental. Maybe now the actual owners will be able to see what is actually going on. We rented The Grotto to celebrate our daughter’s 9th birthday with family. As we were enjoying the birthday festivities, we noticed roaches on the kitchen counter. My wife immediately contacted the host (which again, was not the owners) and she had someone come out the following day to spray home defense. She told my wife she would let the owners know and try to get us compensated (which did not happen, not that it was even about that). The roaches were our biggest issue. Throughout the stay, we had issues with cleanliness - mildew, trash & dirty clothing under the beds from previous guests. Again, not a big deal and did not ruin our stay. The “owners” kept messaging asking for a review & if something was not up to par, let them know so they could try to make things right. Thinking I was going to be able to bring these things to their attention, I let them know the experience we had as they live out of state. They asked our thoughts, we brought them privately. Surprise, it’s not the owners. It’s the lady my wife spoke with about the roaches, basically calling us a liar and that she should have mentioned all of these things on the phone. As I said - we are not ones to complain. We’re human, things happen. But she was very condescending and made us feel at fault for not calling over every little thing we found. When you send a message asking, please do not become defensive when these things are brought to light. I tried to avoid leaving an unkind review, but this was the worst experience we’ve had. Hopefully the actual owners can get a grip on this, because I don’t think they’re being told the truth about a lot of things.

Nice, but could be better.
The indoor pool was nice. The cabin was beautiful and A/C was nice and cold.
There was no access to satellite tv or cable so I could watch the football games. It's true that they did not advertise that they had satellite tv, but it would be nice to have it. I was able to add a Directv app to most of the tv's so I could watch, but the bedroom tv had a roku that had a pin to prevent installing the app so I could not watch games on that tv. The driveway entering the property was insanely steep and I had to almost stand my truck up on it's nose in order to get turned into the parking spot. It was raining when we got there and if I did not have 4-wheel drive I would not be able to get back out.

Beautiful venue, private, immaculate, cozy.
The property was overall incredible. The downstairs tub is HUGE, the private pool is great, and the property is immaculate! Everything was super clean and easy to use!
The driveway is tricky, but if you pull parallel to the front porch, you can get out pretty easily!
