Filthy kitchen and toilet and booking.com hopeless

Shower was powerful but screens weren’t clean. Bedlinen was cheap but appeared clean.

As an Airbnb host myself it pains me to write such a negative review but I wouldn’t want anyone else having the same experience as me. Recycling bin was overflowing positive the kitchen meaning the kitchen and living room were full of house and fruit flies on arrival. All over counter tops etc. No cleaning products whatsoever, no hand soap in toilet or kitchen, no sponge, cloth, spray, kitchen roll, dishwasher tablets, just a little washing up liquid and a dish towel (which had flies on it). Microwave unclean. Oven grubby. Walls and carpets grubby. Kettle was unusable, unclean, broken power switch - so I wasn’t sure if it would be live if plugged in. Crockery chipped, glassware sparse, none of it could be used straight out of the cupboard and had to be cleaned. Toilet itself hadn’t seen a brush in forever, it was filthy. Booking.com was unreachable for help. They’ve a deliberate doom loop of contact us that takes you absolutely nowhere. If there had been any other accommodation nearby I’d have left straight away. As it was, no alternative accommodation to be found so after a 7 hour drive I had to go out to buy all of those things, including a kettle and a fly zapper, then spent the first night cleaning everything I would use. It’s on the main road so is very noisy with traffic and passersby. So much so windows or door couldn’t be left open to get some air in. Parking is on the pavement opposite or on a side street. Host offered to reimburse me for the cleaning products but that was it. No offer to send a cleaner in or any form of refund. I’ll never stay here again and I’ll never use booking.com for private rentals ever again.

The beds were comfy and great kitchen

The sofa's were uncomfortable and the dining room chairs could do with cushions and there was a constant dripping coming from the bathroom sink which I did report but heard nothing back and the shower floor needs looking at possible leak.it looks like there might be an issue with the drains.

    Nice house, bad location

The house was really nice, well decorated and clean. It was warm and kept to a good standard.

There was no Wi-Fi even though it states that it does. I messaged about this but received no reply. I was difficult to find parking nearby and as it is on the main road and has single glasing, you could not get much sleep because of lorries passing by all hours through the night. Also both nights there were a lot of people leaving the club and pub just round the corner and you could hear every conversation.

    Cute cottage, great location

This is a cute we cottage in a location which makes it easy to access all amenities in Barton on foot. With food outlets and pubs, restaurants and shops an easy walk. The shower was amazing, spacious with really good pressure. The outside seating area was cute and sunnny

The cottage is located on a busy road, so there could be traffic noise if the bedroom window is open but it is quiet overnight
