    I would enjoy it if the description matched the amenities.

    The location was very convenient, both on foot and by public transportation. Initial communication with the owner was very good. The room seemed to have everything we needed for our stay.

    Unfortunately, we had a very bad experience during our stay in the room. What was listed in the room description turned out not to be true. When we entered the room, there were three doors: the bedroom door, the bathroom door, and a third door that we didn’t pay any attention to until, on the first day, the housekeeper knocked on the door and told us she would be using the key—after knocking first—because that third room was an extra room where the cleaning supplies were kept. This immediately meant we had no privacy! And of course, we had NOT been informed in advance so we could be prepared! The internet wasn’t working, and I needed it for my work because my cell phone had no signal inside the room. The owner fixed it late at night (I assumed he hadn’t paid for it, although he told me there was an outage in the area). The coffee maker didn’t work, and that wouldn’t have bothered me if it hadn’t been listed among the amenities! The final straw that sealed my bad impression was that the towels had a really bad smell the first time I used them—like when they’re washed but not hung out to dry right away! I sent a message to the owner asking for both the coffee maker and the towels to be replaced—he read it the same day—and replied the very next day, just before we left, saying he hadn’t seen the message the day before because he’d been very busy. Because of this unpleasant experience, we decided not to pay the accommodation tax for one day, so we left him a smaller tip. Although I would have preferred to have clean towels and for the description of the room and services to match what was written.
