I would incorporate “superfluous” more naturally by saying the advertised benefit becomes redundant if guests have to pay for it anyway. I recently stayed at Radisson Blu in Hyderabad and chose this hotel through Booking.com partly because of its advertised benefit of a late checkout until 6 p.m., subject to availability. Among several hotels of a similar standard, this benefit influenced my decision to book Radisson Blu. However, upon checking in, I was told that a late checkout until 6 p.m. was not available. Later, a staff member mentioned that an extension could be arranged if I was willing to pay for it. This left me wondering whether the extension was genuinely unavailable or simply being offered as a paid service. I find this disappointing. After all, most hotels would allow guests to extend their checkout time for an additional fee, subject to room availability. If the advertised 6 p.m. late checkout is merely a paid option, the offer becomes superfluous, as it provides little meaningful advantage over other hotels. I chose Radisson Blu partly because of this advertised benefit, and I feel let down by the experience. I hope the hotel will review how this benefit is communicated and ensure that its terms and conditions are clearly explained, so guests can make informed booking decisions without being disappointed upon arrival.
