Our unexpected experience at Radisson Hotel St Paul.
We booked our stay expecting a comfortable experience at the new Radisson location near the Mall of America. Upon arrival, we discovered that our reservation was at the older downtown property, as we were unaware that there were two separate locations. Unfortunately, our experience at the older property was disappointing. We were uncomfortable with the unpleasant odor in the building and had hoped the staff could assist us with transferring to the newer location. Instead, we were assigned a room with a non-functioning air handler, an unpleasant smell, and inadequate cleanliness. The following morning, we asked the staff to clean our room before we left at 11:30 a.m. to attend a concert at the Mall of America. However, when my wife, children, and I returned at approximately 9:00 p.m., the room had still not been cleaned. After an exhausting day, we were understandably frustrated and disappointed. The staff eventually moved us to another room and informed us that one night's charge would be waived as compensation for the inconvenience. Overall, our stay at the downtown property did not meet our expectations, particularly regarding room maintenance, cleanliness, and customer service. We appreciate the staff's eventual effort to address the situation, but the experience significantly affected our family's comfort and enjoyment. We are considering visiting the area again and would be open to trying the newer Radisson location near the airport and Mall of America, hoping for a better experience. We trust that this feedback will help improve the guest experience and ensure that future visitors receive the quality of service expected from the Radisson brand.
