Unwelcoming, rude staff, guests are a HUGE inconvenience
We stay in a lot of hotels and have never felt more unwelcome than here. ALL staff are miserable. They are either very unhappy working in this hotel or are trained to be as unhelpful and rude as possible. Never, ever have we experienced a reception desk with more straight faced , silent and miserable staff. Absolutely no warm welcome or 'hello' or 'have a nice day' nothing. It takes a very long time to check in (in silence) and a very long time to check out (in uncomfortable silence) Restaurant staff are more interested in talking to each other than looking to see if guests are stood waiting to be seated. 3 members of staff walked straight past us .... and should have at least acknowledged us....'i'll be with you in a minute' or 'hello' or 'i won't be long'...... nothing! Just totally ignored. The second night of our stay we drove 15 mins to a restaurant rather than feel as uncomfortable as we did at Radstone the night before. Even staff serving to the table just drop the food and leave..... no pleasantries. The vegetarian options on the menu are extremely poor and the burger was inedible and was left...... no one noticed..... no one said 'was there a problem with the meal' nothing...... they are not in the slightest bit interested in the guests. Are they trained not to smile? I stood at that reception desk on check out like a naughty school child waiting for their attention, whilst they talked amongst themselves and made me seem like a huge inconvenience. We should have been staying here for work, every week for the next 6 months but never ever again. And bad reviews will be left on every portal possible. On a side note, the walls of the rooms are paper thin and we could hear everything, every word of every conversation.

Lovely place. Great staff, good food and excellent value.
It’s a lovely modern property.
The reception area is used by members of wedding parties as a photography and “holding” area. We felt a like we were impinging on their space but it was the only indoor route between the accommodation and the dining area.

Location was good but the room faced the road and it was very noisy during the night. The room was tended to during the day while we were out but several things were missed. No milk. No tea! The staff looked frazzled and although polite, did not give a welcoming impression. There were a couple of weddings taking place during our stay. Left quite a mess but was promptly cleared after the party left. All in all, I would stay again but will probably request a room facing away from the road.
