Good value stay in Neerpede, with a wonderful, friendly hostess
The hotel is owned by the same people who own the Italian restaurant next door. The lady is lovely and very attentive. We loved her friendly smile and warm welcome at breakfast each morning. She really made the experience. The hotel is in Neerpede, right on the edge of the city (beyond the ringroad). It would be very convenient for anyone arriving by car. The hotel is right beside a pleasant park where I was able to go for a run in the morning. Although it's quite far out, the location is not bad for access into the city. It's about 2 Km from the closest metro, but there is a direct bus to Gare du Midi that takes about half an hour. The room is spacious and well-equipped with air conditioning, a table and chairs, coffee machine, kettle and fridge.
The hotel is an older brick building with a newer pre-fab extension. We were staying in the extension, which looks like it was recently constructed (and not 100% finished, with some wires still poking from the walls). The walls are quite thin: noise isolation from the adjacent room was not great. And there were some minor plumbing issues (bad smell from the bathroom drain), though this seemed to improve after a day or two. The bed was unfortunately not very comfortable. It is a good size, but the mattress was too firm and the pillows were very thin. I found it a little uncomfortable for sleeping. A mattress topper and plumper pillows would improve the comfort.

leuk dorpshotel (appartement) in Brussel.
Het personeel was heel lief, hartelijk en behulpzaam. kamers zijn ruim en alles is aanwezig. zelfs een zonnetje op het balkonnnetje. Lekker gelegen bij een meertje om te wandelen. Het restaurant (italiaans) was gezellig en het eten was heerlijk bereid.
de bedden zijn verschrikkelijk hard. Slapen was dan ook niet zo makkelijk. Misschien een dikke topper er op doen?
